Anxiety- Day 3 Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

Day 3 of Mental health awareness week for Anxiety.

Mind Dippers-

We know cold water immersion and dipping increases production of mood elevating hormones and neurotransmitters that improves symptoms of depression and anxiety by changing the chemistry in our body and brain.

The chilly zap from the cold water signals your brain to release endorphins which is the feel-good hormone, therefore creating a decrease in anxiety symptoms.

There are other methods of cold-water exposure, for example, a cold shower or a cold sponge. Some people recommend these methods because it increases your alertness, clarity and energy levels.

Mind and Sole have a group called Mind Dippers, we dip in the North Sea or in lakes in the Alnwick and surrounding areas. Mind and Sole set this group up knowing the benefits it has on mental health, not just Anxiety and Depression but dipping can help a range of mental and physical health benefits.

We are a fully insured group who has everyone’s safety as top priority. We supply wet suits boots and gloves if required and we wear tow floats.

You can find us on Facebook for dip information and times @minddippers.

For further reading there is an amazing article written on a lady called Anna Deacon, who talks about her battle with Anxiety and how cold water dipping has helped her.
